Banking Team Leader

About the role

The insurance company seeks a Banking Team Leader to oversee the Finance Banking team’s daily operations in Randburg. You will drive operational efficiency, nurture stakeholder relationships, and champion a culture of financial excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day activities of the Finance Banking team, ensuring targets are met.
• Plan daily cash flow and allocate insurance receipts.
• Process and approve local and foreign payments and accounting journals.
• Report and reconcile business credit‑card expenditures.
• Administer the banking platform and provide first‑line support for online banking users.
• Deliver accurate month‑end reports, review bank and clearing account reconciliations, and maintain a reconciliation dashboard.
• Prepare monthly VAT submissions to SARS and manage year‑end audit deliverables.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies, and identify system improvements.
• Mentor team members and provide ad‑hoc support to senior finance leadership.

Required profile

• BCom degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial operations or banking.
• At least 3 years of people‑management experience.
• Proven experience in process implementation and audit management.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and delegation abilities.

Required skills

• SAP (or similar accounting system)

What we offer

• Annual remuneration of R660,000.
