Azure Cloud Systems Engineer – 2‑Year Fixed‑Term

About the role

The City of Tshwane is seeking an ICT Systems Engineer to design, implement, maintain and optimise Azure cloud hosting services, ensuring secure and reliable delivery for municipal ICT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain secure, reliable and scalable Azure cloud infrastructure for the City’s ICT operations.
• Monitor cloud environments, resolve incidents promptly and ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement cloud security, business continuity, disaster recovery and governance controls to meet organisational standards.
• Optimise resources, automate infrastructure management and drive continuous improvement for cost‑effectiveness.

Required profile

• Three‑year tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Information Security or related field.
• At least three years’ experience in ICT systems engineering, cloud infrastructure administration or Azure services within a medium‑to‑large enterprise.
• Valid Code B driving licence and ability to undergo criminal record and fingerprint checks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, with ability to work under pressure.
