Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer & Rotational Head of Department – Entrepreneurship

About the role

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology seeks an experienced academic to serve as an Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer on a permanent basis, while also rotating as Head of Department for Entrepreneurship and Business Management.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in entrepreneurship, enterprise development and business management.
• Develop and implement departmental and faculty strategic goals aligned with institutional objectives.
• Manage the department’s budget and financial resources.
• Oversee student registration, assessment, academic counselling and mentorship.
• Lead quality‑assurance activities and represent the department on university committees.
• Supervise and mentor postgraduate research students and junior academic staff.

Required profile

• Doctoral qualification in Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Development, Business Administration or Business Management with a focus on entrepreneurship.
• Master’s qualification in a related sub‑field.
• Minimum six years (associate professor) or four years (senior lecturer) of higher‑education teaching experience, with proven academic leadership.
• Successful supervision of master’s and doctoral candidates to completion.
• Record of publications in DHET‑accredited journals.
