Part-Time Lecturer - Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering (2027)

About the role

The Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the Bloemfontein campus of the Central University of Technology, Free State is looking for part-time lecturers for 2027. Lecturers are appointed on an hourly basis for specific semester and/or year subjects covering teaching, learning and assessment and related administration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop academic material and deliver lectures in allocated subjects for own and other programmes
• Execute appropriate community projects
• Lecture face-to-face on campus during the scheduled class hours of the assigned subject

Required profile

• An appropriate B Eng Tech Honours (NQF level 8), Master's (NQF level 9) or Doctorate (NQF level 10) in Mechanical Engineering
• Previous lecturing experience is recommended
• Experience with electronic education (Blackboard) is recommended

What we offer

• Hourly pay depending on qualifications and experience: Junior Lecturer R292, Lecturer R358, Senior Lecturer R438 and A-Prof / Professor R600 per hour (2026 rates)
• Face-to-face lectures on campus
