Assistant Store Manager - Gezina Galleries

About the role

Clicks Group is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for its Gezina Galleries store in Pretoria. The post reports to the Store Manager and supports the efficient operation of the store and service excellence by driving sales and building customer loyalty, so that sales, profit and compliance targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and maximise sales through promotional activities, cross-selling and up-selling, and deliver superior customer service across the store team.
• Run the store's operations, including expenses, stock, shrinkage, general housekeeping and administration.
• Carry out in-store visual merchandising so presentation and promotional standards match the brand image.
• Support the Store Manager in motivating staff, directing them to their targets and managing the team in the Store Manager's absence.
• Help maintain the daily work schedule in line with the Group's labour policy so every department is properly staffed.
• Run customer service initiatives that build loyalty and meet club card participation targets.
• Keep weekly time and attendance and employee records complete and submit them to HR.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Maths 50%, English 50%).
• Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification (external applicants); a degree in the same field is desirable.
• Minimum 1 year in an assistant store management role in a retail/FMCG environment, or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
• Experience with budgets, profit and loss statements and financial ratios.
