Assistant Manager - Accounting Services

About the role

The Apex Group is seeking an Assistant Manager to join its Alternative Asset Services division. You will be responsible for administering and overseeing the accounting of a client portfolio while mentoring junior team members and delivering high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a client portfolio, handling all administration and accounting functions.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, many of whom are pursuing professional qualifications.
• Collaborate with the Manager and Director to plan, coordinate, and complete NAV calculations.
• Prepare management and statutory reports for corporate entities, ensuring compliance with accounting, regulatory and listing requirements.
• Develop and implement client‑specific procedures for administration and reporting.
• Act as the primary contact for auditors, coordinating audit planning and execution.
• Ensure all reporting meets local law, GAAP or IFRS standards, and other statutory obligations.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (CA(S) or equivalent).
• Minimum one year post‑articles experience.
• At least three years of experience in the fund industry.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements such as AML laws.
• Ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines.
