Assistant Lodge Manager

About the role

The Assistant Lodge Manager supports the Lodge Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience at Kapama Southern Camp. This onsite role combines leadership of multiple operational teams with hands‑on involvement in finance, health & safety, and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Lodge Manager in their absence and oversee all lodge operations.
• Lead and motivate Front‑of‑House, Housekeeping, and Maintenance teams, ensuring service standards are met.
• Manage daily FOH systems, rooming lists, reception, shop, and switchboard operations.
• Supervise housekeeping standards, room spot‑checks, and uniform control.
• Oversee lodge maintenance, preventative schedules, and coordinate with the Reserve Maintenance Manager.
• Drive health & safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and lead the lodge safety committee.
• Prepare monthly finance reports, participate in budgeting, and control expenditure.
• Handle HR duties including staff training, welfare, leave management, and performance discipline.
• Ensure guest feedback is addressed promptly and support safari experiences.

Required profile

• Strong administrative abilities and experience in staff motivation.
• Good knowledge of building and facility maintenance.
• Natural leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
