Assistant General Manager – Hospitality

About the role

We are seeking an energetic Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in delivering exceptional hospitality across our boutique winery and luxury accommodation in Stellenbosch. The role is hands‑on, requiring you to lead by example and ensure high service standards throughout the estate.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager with daily operational management and implementation of procedures.
• Maintain consistent service quality across all departments, including restaurant, housekeeping, and events.
• Monitor restaurant service, engage with guests, and resolve issues promptly.
• Supervise housekeeping standards and conduct regular room inspections.
• Support Food & Beverage operations and uphold high‑quality dining experiences.
• Help plan and execute weddings, functions and special events, working flexible hours.
• Lead, motivate and guide operational teams, fostering a guest‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years hospitality experience, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
• Background in hotels, lodges, guest houses, wine estates or similar environments.
• Wine industry knowledge is advantageous.
• Own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Semper system (essential).
• Experience using POS systems.
• Computer literacy.
