Artisan Diesel Mechanic (Underground Trackless Machinery)

About the role

This artisan diesel mechanic position reports to the TMM underground Coordinator and covers the maintenance and repair of all surface and underground trackless mobile machines. It provides specialist maintenance support to the mine so that production performance targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all types of surface and underground trackless mobile machinery
• Provide specialist maintenance support to the mine to achieve production performance levels
• Care for and maintain equipment in the area of responsibility
• Administer the necessary systems accurately and on time

Required profile

• N2 certificate and a valid Section 13/26D Diesel Mechanic trade certificate
• Portfolio of Evidence (POE) or SETA statement of results
• At least 3 years' experience as an Artisan Diesel Mechanic in a mining environment
• Experience on Sandvik DD210 drill rigs and Nkangala roof bolters
• Medically fit to work underground and on shifts
• Good knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and related legislation
• Valid driver's licence and own transport

Required skills

• Good knowledge of underground trackless mobile machinery
• Computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
