API Head, Business Transformation, CIB Technology

About the role

Standard Bank Group is looking for an Application Programming Interface Head for Business Transformation, CIB Technology, based in Johannesburg. The role shapes, builds and runs the assigned IT product or platform portfolio (for example Core Banking), turning IT portfolio strategy into technology roadmaps and execution plans that support the Group's digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Shape, build and run the IT product or platform portfolio, driving solution architecture, development and service delivery with agile portfolio management principles.
• Oversee delivery execution across the Business Unit globally, manage the IT blueprint lifecycle and verify its effectiveness through local market outcomes.
• Translate the IT portfolio strategy into actionable technology roadmaps aligned with the Group Technology strategy and business objectives.
• Review emerging technology trends and build a toolbox roadmap that gives the bank and its countries a competitive advantage.
• Collaborate on complex solution designs and lead development programmes across the full IT stack, tailored to different country tiers.
• Apply agile portfolio management to deliver a portfolio of technology programmes and projects.
• Integrate technology best practices and information security standards into solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology.
• More than 10 years of progressive leadership experience in IT, focused on portfolio management, strategic planning and technology delivery in a large, complex organisation.
• Proven track record of developing and executing strategic technology plans and driving digital transformation.
• Deep expertise in IT portfolio management, including investment prioritisation and risk management.
