Android Software Engineer (Mid-Level)

About the role

Superbalist.com, South Africa’s leading fashion and lifestyle retailer, is expanding its mobile‑first strategy and needs a strong‑intermediate Android engineer to join the team. You will work on the native Android app, collaborating with product, design and backend teams to deliver a world‑class shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test new features in Kotlin and Java for the Android application.
• Write technical specifications, perform code reviews and ensure code quality.
• Monitor, profile and optimise app performance and stability.
• Maintain and improve platform services, dependency management and CI pipelines.
• Collaborate with creative, content and engineering teams to align on product vision.
• Publish releases to the Google Play Store and support post‑release monitoring.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of Kotlin experience and solid Android SDK knowledge.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
