Afrikaans & Life Skills Teacher – Upper Primary (Grades 4–7)

About the role

DreamHill International School is seeking a dynamic Afrikaans & Life Skills teacher for its Upper Primary (Grades 4‑7) cohort. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, support learner development and contribute to a vibrant school community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Afrikaans and Life Skills to learners in Grades 4‑7.
• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the CAPS and Cambridge curricula.
• Assess learner progress, maintain accurate academic records and prepare learners for formal and informal assessments.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
• Participate in school events, meetings, parent consultations and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain classroom discipline while promoting respect and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents and school management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or an appropriate teaching qualification.
• Current and valid SACE registration.
• Experience teaching Afrikaans and/or Life Skills in the Intermediate/Senior Phase (Grades 4‑7).
• Strong knowledge of the CAPS and Cambridge curricula.
• Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
• Passion for learner success and holistic education.
