Advancing Financial Adviser (Pietermaritzburg/ Estcourt/ Howick)

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking an Advancing Financial Adviser to serve clients in Pietermaritzburg, Estcourt and Howick. The role involves providing financial advice, selling long‑term insurance and investment products, and building lasting relationships with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver consultative financial advice and recommend suitable insurance and investment solutions.
• Identify customer needs, evaluate information and propose appropriate products.
• Manage sales opportunities from initial contact through to closure.
• Maintain accurate records using sales software and ensure compliance with FAIS regulations.
• Travel to client sites using own vehicle as required.

Required profile

• Matric (or equivalent) qualification.
• At least 12 months experience as a financial adviser in the financial services sector.
• Completion of Long‑term Insurance Class of Business and additional FAIS requirements (e.g., Investments Class of Business, RE5).
• Valid driver’s licence and own car.
• Clear criminal and credit check.
• Strong computer literacy and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with sound business acumen and resilience.
