Advanced Level 2 Engineer (L3 Capability)

About the role

Network IT is looking for an Advanced Level 2 Engineer with Level 3 capability to design, optimise and secure hybrid and multi‑cloud infrastructures. The role blends deep cloud expertise, cybersecurity knowledge and project leadership, allowing the engineer to operate at a senior technical level while remaining hands‑on.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise hybrid and multi‑cloud environments across AWS, Azure, GCP and VMware.
• Implement advanced networking solutions, including SD‑WAN and zero‑trust architectures.
• Deploy containerised workloads using Kubernetes and Docker, and manage virtualisation platforms.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, Ansible and CloudFormation.
• Participate in or lead infrastructure migrations, transformation initiatives and Agile/DevOps projects.
• Conduct incident response, threat hunting and security operations using SIEM (Splunk, Sentinel) and EDR/XDR tools.
• Support compliance activities (GDPR, POPIA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI‑DSS, NIST, CIS Controls) and audit preparation.

• Ability to work independently and engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
