Accounting Operations Specialist

About the role

Plaid, a global fintech infrastructure provider, is hiring a remote Accounting Operations specialist. The role sits within the finance team and focuses on complex accounting areas, ensuring month-end, quarter-end and year-end cycles run precisely. It is highly collaborative, acting as a bridge between accounting and FP&A, Treasury, Tax and Legal so that global spend is accurately reflected, and advocates for automation of manual workflows and stronger internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting for investments, accruals, lease accounting and cost allocations
• Manage complex intercompany transactions and consolidation entries across multiple international legal entities
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure financial commitments are captured completely and accurately
• Act as the main point of contact for external auditors on your areas of responsibility during annual audits
• Drive continuous improvement to streamline accounting processes and strengthen control frameworks

Required profile

• At least six years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a CPA qualification
• Background in a public company environment or IPO readiness
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements
• Experience managing multi-currency and multi-entity accounting structures
• Strong communication skills to explain complex financial concepts to stakeholders
