General Manager: Financial Services (CFO)

About the role

The General Manager: Financial Services (CFO) leads the financial services of the GPW branch in Pretoria. The position covers budgeting, costing, management accounting, financial accounting, supply chain management and strategic financial direction, with a salary of R1,885,710 per annum (Level 15, all-inclusive).

Key responsibilities

• Lead modernisation and digital transformation of the branch and its financial management and supply chain systems
• Oversee management accounting, annual budget, MTEF budget and financial modelling, and develop costing and pricing systems
• Oversee revenue and expenditure services, payment collection, accounts payable, financial statements and employee remuneration
• Lead asset and fleet management, public-private partnership initiatives, sourcing strategies, inventory control, contract management and outsourced printing
• Develop strategies to improve profitability and service delivery, advise the Accounting Officer and Executive Management on investments, and translate strategy into Annual Performance Plans
• Ensure internal controls, compliance with PFMA, National Treasury regulations and the Code of Conduct, and audit readiness; represent the department in governance and audit structures
• Monitor financial risks and report to ministers and oversight bodies
• Manage human, financial and physical resources within the branch

Required profile

• A Grade 12 plus a degree (NQF level 8) in Finance or Accounting; CA qualification is an added advantage
• At least 8 years of proven senior management experience in a financial environment
• Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Service (NYUKELA)
• Valid driver's licence
