Accountant – SAIPA/SAICA Qualified (Hybrid, Port Elizabeth)

About the role

Our client, a well‑known brand in finance, accounting and tax, is looking for a qualified Accountant to join their Port Elizabeth office. This hybrid position offers the chance to work on a variety of financial tasks while developing professional expertise in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Invoice customers, manage accounts receivable and process vendor invoices.
• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile bank statements and inventory monthly.
• Record monthly journals, finalize trial balances and prepare management accounts with analysis.
• Prepare sales and gross receipts tax reports, budget‑to‑actual comparisons and periodic sales reports.
• Review and correct prior period financial statements, create cash‑flow projections and perform inventory costings.
• Develop annual budgets, financial models for existing or new business lines, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with team members, self‑manage tasks, and support senior staff on projects.

Required profile

• Matric with Accounting at a Higher Grade.
• BCom or equivalent degree with Accounting III and Taxation.
• Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, taxation and auditing.

• Microsoft Office suite.
• CaseWare.
• Xero.
• QuickBooks Online (QBO) certification.
