Accountant – Renewable Energy Finance

About the role

Join a fast‑growing renewable‑energy player operating across Africa. As an Accountant for Release South Africa, you will support day‑to‑day financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and help streamline processes within a multicultural, international team.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and process daily financial transactions in the ERP system.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory reporting, valuation and related journal entries.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly balance‑sheet accounts, including accruals, provisions, VAT and FX revaluations.
• Manage intercompany invoicing, reconciliations, reporting and eliminations.
• Prepare monthly financial actuals for Group submission and annual financial statements in line with local regulations.
• Ensure tax and statutory compliance (VAT, corporate income tax, CIPC filings).
• Support international payments, SARB applications, audit liaison and ad‑hoc finance tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Management Accounting with solid academic results.
• 3‑5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in project‑based environments.
• Knowledge of IFRS, internal controls and tax compliance.
• Experience with inventory accounting and intercompany processes.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) ERP system.
• IFRS accounting standards.
