Accountant – Property & Group Finance

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Accountant to own monthly and annual accounting duties within a property and group finance environment. The role involves preparing month‑end and year‑end journals, IFRS‑aligned working papers, tax and VAT calculations, and compiling financial statements using Caseware.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end and year‑end journal entries and related working papers.
• Calculate tax, provisional tax and VAT liabilities and ensure compliance.
• Conduct debtor and creditor reviews and manage cash‑flow forecasting.
• Compile financial statements and management reports using Caseware.
• Maintain asset registers, calculate depreciation and perform reconciliations.

Required profile

• Accounting degree with completed SAICA Articles (non‑negotiable).
• Minimum 2 years of commercial accounting experience outside an audit firm.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, income tax, provisional tax and VAT.
• Experience with asset registers, depreciation, journals and reconciliations.
• Property accounting experience and exposure to municipal debt administration (MDA) is advantageous.
