Accountant II – Cost Accounting

About the role

Franklin Electric is seeking an Accountant II to lead cost accounting activities within its Finance department in Johannesburg. The role focuses on establishing cost procedures, analysing cost records, and supporting budgeting and financial planning for new product initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Determine and implement cost accounting procedures to allocate costs by department and product.
• Prepare and analyse cost records, generate reports, and conduct cost audits.
• Estimate costs for proposed new products within the operating unit.
• Perform accounting duties including financial planning, budgeting, reporting variances, and cost‑control analyses.

Required profile

• Accounting degree or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in cost accounting or financial analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
