Accountant – Food Production

About the role
Our client in the food production industry is looking for an experienced Accountant to join the finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Manager, the role requires a mature, dynamic individual who can thrive in a fast‑paced environment and add immediate value.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare trial balances and maintain the general ledger
- Manage fixed assets registers
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain cashbook and banking transactions
- Oversee payroll processing
- Perform reconciliations and financial reporting
- Prepare management accounts (balance sheet and income statement)
- Create audit packs
Required profile
- BCom, BTech or National Diploma in Accounting
- 6–8 years of experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant
- Background in a fast‑paced FMCG or food production environment
- Strong knowledge of ERP financial systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

What we offer
- Competitive total cash compensation of R540,000 per annum
