Accountant – Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

About the role
We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our finance team in Germiston. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting month‑end and year‑end processes.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Process creditors, debtors, accruals, and provision journals.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures and support audit activities.
- Manage fixed asset register and insurance monthly journal entries.
- Prepare foreign exchange payments and ensure timely statutory submissions (SARS VAT/STATS).
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations and ensure timely payments.
Required profile
- Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Financial Accounting.
- 3–5 years of experience in an accountant role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and tax laws.
- Proven ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
Required skills
- SAGE Pastel Evolution.
