Accountant – Core Accounting & Financial Reporting

About the role

Graffiti Group SA is seeking an Accountant to manage core accounting functions and support financial reporting for its branding and retail solutions business. The role involves handling the general ledger, cash management, and compliance within a dynamic, customer‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions, post journal entries, and maintain the general ledger, sub‑ledgers and trial balance.
• Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements and run weekly/monthly payments; generate customer invoices and follow up on overdue receivables.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations, balance‑sheet control account reconciliations and assist with cash‑flow monitoring and projections.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close, prepare draft income statements, balance sheets, cash‑flow reports and budget‑to‑actual variance analysis.
• Prepare statutory tax schedules, ensure compliance with South African regulations and assist internal and external auditors.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong core accounting knowledge covering ledger management, AP/AR, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Understanding of South African accounting standards, tax principles and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with finance, operations and audit teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Competence in standard office productivity applications.
