Accountant – Finance

About the role

Our client, a leading organisation in Menlo Park, Pretoria, is looking for an experienced Accountant to join the Finance Team. The role focuses on maintaining financial integrity through accurate reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting support and robust financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Produce management accounts, variance analysis and support external audits.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform month‑end and year‑end closings, and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Manage loan portfolio accounting, including interest income, fees and impairment provisions.
• Prepare VAT returns, provisional tax submissions and ensure PAYE, UIF and SDL reconciliations.
• Assist with regulatory submissions and liaise with auditors, SARS and other authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• At least 1 year of experience in financial reporting, management systems and loan accounting.
• Experience dealing with external auditors and knowledge of South African tax legislation, Companies Act and National Credit Act.
• Proven ability in budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and internal controls.
