Accountant – Afrikaans Speaking, Remote

About the role

Our client, a fast‑paced organisation with a strong track record, is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant who is fluent in Afrikaans and English. The role is fully remote, with occasional attendance at team meetings and team‑building events. You will work across multiple entities in a manufacturing environment, handling payroll, statutory submissions and a range of accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounting transactions up to trial balance.
• Run payroll using Sage Payroll Professional.
• Prepare and lodge statutory returns (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501, provisional tax, income tax).
• Compile audit schedules, asset registers and leave provisions.
• Assist auditors during audit periods and resolve queries.
• Reconcile payments via Standard Bank Business Online and perform supplier and VAT reconciliations.
• Maintain inventory records on Microsoft systems.
• Submit ROE, UIF declarations and UIF claim forms.
• Support the preparation of management accounts, including income statements and cash‑flow statements.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree.
• 4‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Fluent in spoken and written Afrikaans and English.
• Proven ability to work independently from home and manage time effectively.
• Strong numerical accuracy, logical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Stable track record of delivering under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
