Academic and Quality Manager for the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree

About the role

The Academic and Quality Manager will oversee the delivery and quality assurance of practical modules for the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program in a distance learning mode. Based at the Stellenbosch academic head office, the role ensures alignment with syllabi, academic calendars, and institutional policies.

Key responsibilities

• Support, guide, and monitor educators in the facilitation of allocated LLB modules, ensuring compliance with syllabi and academic calendars.
• Manage educators' uploads of teaching, learning, and assessment materials to the learner management system (LMS).
• Oversee timely responses to student queries and appeals via LMS, email, or telephone.
• Provide consistent support to students, educators, and staff, implementing Boston policies and procedures.
• Ensure teaching, learning, and assessment strategies align with program outcomes and institutional pedagogical approaches.
• Guide educators and supervise the research supervision process.
• Plan, brief, and monitor the development and quality assurance of learning materials.
• Administer grading and moderation of all assessment events, conduct regular meetings with educators and programme coordinators, and manage post‑assessment grade administration.

Required profile

• Ability to support students, educators, and staff consistently and promptly.
• Familiarity with academic calendars, module timetables, and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of Boston policies and procedures and capacity to implement them accurately.
