2nd Ops Production Line Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Production Line Manager for the 2nd Operations line of a well‑established manufacturing company in Maitland, Cape Town. The role focuses on achieving production, quality, efficiency and cost targets while driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the 2nd Operations Production Line, ensuring targets are met.
• Plan, organise, monitor and optimise workflow to maximise output.
• Identify bottlenecks, implement corrective actions and maintain compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
• Develop high‑performing teams through coaching, training and performance management.
• Produce accurate production reports and maintain ERP/SAP documentation.
• Drive Lean, 5S, TPM and waste‑reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Immediate availability or short notice.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification (essential).
• Qualified Toolmaker, Fitter & Turner or related trade (advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years production management experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years trade experience and 3 years people‑management experience.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, quality control, reporting and continuous improvement.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans, valid South African driver’s licence.
