Workshop Manager

About the role

The Workshop Manager will lead the on‑site workshop in Boksburg, overseeing the flame‑proofing of diesel‑engine powered machines and power packs used in hazardous mining environments. This full‑time position reports to senior management and works closely with procurement, sales and technical teams to ensure safe, high‑quality output.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor daily workshop activities and production schedules.
• Assign tasks to workshop staff, supervise inspections, testing and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards specific to explosive and hazardous areas.
• Manage inventory, spare parts and coordinate with procurement.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and support training of personnel.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical or engineering background, preferably with diesel‑engine, heavy equipment or mining machinery experience.
• Proven workshop or production management experience, including team leadership and resource allocation.
• Knowledge of safety regulations for hazardous environments and ability to enforce safe work practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and compliance documents.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external coordination.
