About the role

Join the Guest Service team at Protea Hotels by Marriott in Polokwane as a Waiter. You will help create memorable dining experiences by delivering attentive service, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting smooth kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities

• Set and arrange tables, ensuring proper presentation for guests.
• Communicate orders accurately with the kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and beverages promptly, checking for guest satisfaction.
• Handle guest transactions and process payments as part of the service flow.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, work stations, and service equipment.
• Move, lift, and carry items up to 25 lb unaided and up to 50 lb with assistance.
• Follow safety, hygiene, and company policies at all times.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than one year of related food‑and‑beverage experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
• Willingness to work full‑time hours in a fast‑paced environment.
