An established private small animal veterinary practice in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is looking for a compassionate, professional and dedicated Veterinary Nurse. The role suits both a newly qualified nurse wanting to start a career in a supportive clinical setting and an experienced nurse seeking a fresh challenge. The nurse supports the veterinary team, ensures patient comfort and helps pet owners make informed decisions about their animals' health.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with consultations, examinations and the treatment of small animal patients.
• Administer medications, vaccinations and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures and imaging where required.
• Monitor patients during surgery and throughout recovery.
• Educate pet owners on preventative healthcare, medication administration and general animal well-being.
• Maintain accurate medical records and uphold professional and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to a clean, organised and efficient clinical environment.
• Build trusting relationships with clients through service, empathy and clear communication.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Veterinary Nursing.
• Current registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
• Up-to-date CPD points.
• Fluency in English and a valid driver's licence.
• 1-3 years of experience; closing date 2027-02-25.
