Optometrist – New Practice, Brackenfell

About the role

A client of Optivet is preparing to open a brand-new optometry practice in the Brackenfell area of the Northern Suburbs and is looking for a skilled, professional and patient-focused optometrist to join the team. The successful candidate will work between two branches, so flexibility, reliable transport and a valid driver's licence are essential. An Afrikaans-speaking optometrist living in the Cape Town area, equally comfortable in English, would be an ideal fit.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, giving treatment recommendations and referrals where needed.
• Guide patients in choosing suitable eyewear, lenses and contact lenses.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and uphold professional clinical standards.
• Work with other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive patient care.
• Stay up to date with developments in optometry and deliver an excellent patient experience.

Required profile

• Degree in Optometry and current HPCSA registration.
• Up-to-date CPD points.
• Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
• Flexibility to work between two branches.
• Experience of 1-3 years.
