About the role

Thembisile Hani Local Municipality is seeking qualified professionals for several key positions within its administration, including a Chairperson of the Financial Misconduct Board, a Manager of Corporate Services, a Payroll Accountant, a Senior Technician for Roads and Stormwater, and an Artisan for Water Reticulation.

Key responsibilities

• Chairperson: Lead investigations of financial misconduct, prepare reports and recommendations for disciplinary action.
• Corporate Services Manager: Oversee corporate support functions such as human capital, legal services, facilities, ICT, records, fleet and supply‑chain management; develop policies and strategic plans.
• Payroll Accountant: Administer payroll, process statutory deductions, reconcile payments and prepare budget forecasts.
• Senior Technician (Roads & Stormwater): Plan, design and supervise road and storm‑water projects, ensure compliance with specifications and health‑safety standards.
• Artisan (Water Reticulation): Execute installation, maintenance and rehabilitation of water reticulation infrastructure.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in law, finance, public administration, civil engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience for senior management roles; 2‑5 years payroll experience; 5‑8 years engineering experience post‑registration.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to undergo security vetting.
• Completion of required competency certificates (MFMP/CPMD/ELMDP) within stipulated timeframes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., Payday).
• Financial accounting expertise.
• ECSA registration for engineering positions.
