Ward Committee Coordinator & Light Duty Operator (Truck Driver)

About the role

The Thembisile Hani Local Municipality is seeking qualified candidates for two positions: a Ward Committee Coordinator on a short fixed‑term contract and a Light Duty Operator (Truck Driver) on a permanent basis. Both roles support municipal services in Mthombomuhle (Kwaggafontein).

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer ward committee programmes, meetings and training for newly elected members.
• Compile quarterly and annual reports and maintain a database of project beneficiaries.
• Inspect safety devices, vehicle controls and lubricant levels; report defects.
• Transport road‑maintenance materials, building rubble, hot‑bitumen and personnel to designated sites.
• Control loading and off‑loading of materials in accordance with the Council’s Transport Policy.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a relevant National Diploma or equivalent (Coordinator).
• Valid driver’s licence; code 14 (EC) and a valid Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP) (Operator).
• Basic literacy (Operator).
• 3–5 years of experience in community matters (Coordinator) or 2–4 years of relevant transport experience (Operator).
