Utility '2' Operator (Artisan) – Manufacturing

About the role

Join a forward‑thinking manufacturing team in Port Elizabeth as a Utility ‘2’ Operator (Artisan). You will operate and maintain high‑tech production equipment, ensuring consistent quality and output while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain Plate Enveloping, COS, Shorts Testing, TTP Welding, Heat Sealing, Leak Testing and Date Coding machines.
• Perform mould changes, machine start‑ups and manage automatic and semi‑automatic Post Burner equipment.
• Maintain cooling water and extraction systems for optimal performance.
• Complete maintenance job cards, production logs, attribute charts and SPC records accurately.
• Take corrective action when quality or production standards are not met.
• Keep all assembly line equipment clean, safe and in good working order.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) with an N4 or equivalent trade qualification as a Fitter, Millwright or Electrician.
• Minimum 5 years experience in an automated factory or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, Quality Management Systems (QMS) and the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication and teamwork skills.
