Utilities & Precinct Operations Manager

About the role

We are looking for a technically strong, hands‑on infrastructure professional to lead the growth of a premium mixed‑use urban precinct. The Utilities & Precinct Operations Manager will be responsible for the performance, maintenance and future‑proofing of critical infrastructure and public‑realm assets across Westown.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee water, boreholes, sewer, stormwater, roads, electrical, fibre and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Manage utility connections for new developments from application through to physical hand‑over.
• Approve and coordinate construction activities within the precinct and act as the primary technical liaison with developers and contractors.
• Lead operations & maintenance teams and service contractors, ensuring compliance with SLAs and performance standards.
• Develop proactive asset‑management, maintenance and renewal programmes and manage related budgets.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Property/Facilities Management or a related built‑environment discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in utilities, civil infrastructure, construction or large‑scale precinct management.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil and electrical infrastructure and experience with land‑development processes.
• Proven ability to lead technical operations and maintenance teams, with solid budgeting and financial management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to be based at Westown, KwaZulu‑Natal.
