Unit Manager – Trauma (Kimberley, Northern Cape)

About the role

The Unit Manager – Trauma will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality nursing care in a trauma unit based in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will be accountable for patient safety, quality outcomes and the professional development of staff.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe, cost‑effective patient care aligned with the hospital’s clinical governance and evidence‑based practice.
• Monitor nursing quality indicators, clinical outcomes and patient experience.
• Coordinate capacity building, mentoring, coaching and training for the unit staff.
• Promote health and wellbeing of patients and employees while adhering to infection‑prevention standards.
• Implement group quality initiatives and liaise with public liability on risk incidents.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification with South African Nursing Council registration.
• Post‑Basic Trauma qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Unit Manager or shift leader in a specialised area.
• Compliance with SANC code and relevant health‑care legislation.
• Compulsory BLS certification.
