Unit Manager

About the role

The Unit Manager will lead the end‑to‑end performance of a production unit at Coca‑Cola Beverages South Africa in Polokwane. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for safe, efficient and cost‑effective delivery of daily and weekly production targets while driving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and execute daily and weekly production schedules to meet volume, efficiency and quality goals.
• Analyse production performance, identify variances and implement corrective actions to achieve KPIs.
• Support the Engineering and Maintenance Manager with preventive and autonomous maintenance programmes.
• Promote operator ownership of equipment through autonomous maintenance practices.
• Lead root‑cause investigations of equipment failures and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and manage the unit’s operational budget, tracking labour, material and overhead costs.
• Drive waste reduction initiatives and optimise resource utilisation.
• Ensure compliance with Quality at Source, QFSE standards and health‑safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the QFSE Manager to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures.

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive improvements.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Effective communication and teamwork across cross‑functional groups.
