Travel Specialist – Reservations & Tour Operations

About the role

The Travel Specialist will manage product reservations and scheduled tour operations, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and suppliers. Based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, the role is onsite and focuses on delivering high‑quality service across multiple travel channels.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and process emails in the shared reservations mailbox, adhering to response standards.
• Handle live‑chat enquiries on the website, providing immediate assistance.
• Prepare and send accurate quotes for accommodation, tours, transfers and charter proposals.
• Book and confirm tours, airport transfers, day trips and add‑on nights, managing supplier allocations and group numbers.
• Invoice bookings, track pre‑payments, deposits and client accounts, and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Process cancellations and refunds in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Extensive knowledge of South African tourist attractions, routes, seasonality and transport infrastructure.
• Strong verbal, telephonic and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Attention to detail, basic financial understanding and a collaborative team attitude.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Tourplan reservation system (advantageous).
• Proficiency with online reservation platforms.
• Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel and Teams.
