Transport Operations Manager – Operating Company I

About the role

DP World is seeking a Transport Operations Manager for Operating Company I to develop and execute a tactical transport operations strategy. The role focuses on enhancing client satisfaction, reducing risk, and driving profitability across road freight activities.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and deliver a tactical transport operations strategy and practice delivery plan.
• Implement corporate governance and compliance policies to manage risk liabilities.
• Analyse, interpret and report on performance trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies.
• Develop and execute people capacity plans aligned with performance objectives.
• Lead initiatives to improve customer service excellence.
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward, recognition and employee relations.
• Create an engaging work climate that reflects organisational values and the employee value proposition.
• Plan practice changes, set delivery priorities and allocate required resources (1‑2 year horizon).
• Contribute to budgeting, cost minimisation and effective asset management.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships that foster a culture of customer service excellence.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Transport or Logistics Management (Honours degree, NQF Level 8).
• Up to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in operational leadership or specialist roles within a road freight company.
