About the role
The Transport Manager will lead all aspects of fleet management for the FCS Hermanstad branch, reporting directly to the Branch Manager. This role ensures operational effectiveness, compliance, and cost efficiency across the vehicle fleet.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain asset registers (FGT01) and monitor vehicle running costs.
- Ensure driver licence compliance and oversee regular vehicle inspections.
- Manage fuel allocation, intake, and usage reporting.
- Coordinate accident reporting, committee investigations and vehicle recoveries.
- Oversee daily repair and maintenance activities, including workshop management.
- Lead fleet staff including Fleet Admin, Fleet Assistant and workshop mechanics.
- Prepare and analyse reports on service schedules, inactive vehicles, accidents, alcohol incidents and repair budgets.
Required profile
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Trade test passed for petrol and diesel mechanics.
- Valid EB driver licence and reliable personal transport.
- Minimum five years of fleet management experience.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Word and Excel.
