Trainee Accountant – Budget and Treasury (5 positions)

About the role
The Municipality is seeking five Trainee Accountants for its Budget and Treasury unit. This 24‑month fixed‑term programme offers hands‑on experience in financial recording, debtor management and treasury functions within a public‑sector environment.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and verify transactional recordings, debtor reports and summary processing.
- Control the reconciliation of debtor accounts and monitor overdue balances.
- Prepare debtor age analysis and monthly budget reports.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, manage asset registers and support payroll administration.
- Assist with supply‑chain management and revenue account reporting.
Required profile
- Recognised B.Com degree or diploma with Accounting as a major subject.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Windows spreadsheet applications.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to undergo security clearance.
