Trainee Accountant – ACCA/SAIPA 3‑Year Training Programme

About the role

We are a boutique accounting and auditing firm seeking a motivated accounting graduate to join our ACCA/SAIPA 3‑Year Training Programme. The role offers hands‑on exposure to financial reporting, audit support, tax compliance and client liaison, providing a solid foundation for a Chartered Certified Accountant qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, management accounts and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain client accounting records and perform bookkeeping tasks.
• Assist external audit teams with testing, documentation and audit file preparation.
• Support the preparation and submission of tax returns, VAT, PAYE and SARS filings.
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries while ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Currently studying or completed a BCom Accounting degree.
• Strong academic performance in accounting‑related subjects.
• No prior professional experience required; internships or vacation work are a plus.

Required skills

• Financial accounting and reporting.
• Fundamentals of auditing.
• Basic taxation knowledge.
• Reconciliations and bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with accounting and audit software.
