Temporary Homecare Advisor – KZN

About the role

Air Liquide is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Homecare Advisor in KwaZulu-Natal to act as the link between the company and the veterans it serves. The role delivers VA medical products to patients' homes, ensures they are comfortable with their equipment and gives them education on the safe use of home oxygen therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Handle administrative tasks and monthly follow-up for patients, looking after the existing customer base and acquiring new customers.
• Download titration data, schedule appointments for routines, home sleep studies and CPAP, and confirm deliveries.
• Deliver equipment to patients on time and connect it to their homes.
• Advise customers on all aspects of the products and run training sessions, including demos of diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Carry out routine visits within a month, manage the patient list and PDA devices, and follow work instructions.
• Implement the Therapy Initiation and Therapy Optimisation programs, and deliver CPAP therapy according to sleep study results and doctors' prescriptions.
• Deliver insulin pumps and disposables to new patients, educate them on pump therapy and help with set-up and demos.
• Provide 24-hour on-call support, including weekends and public holidays, and compile monthly state information using the state template.
• Keep accurate stock counts of equipment and disposables, monitor expenses, maintain the company pool car and follow safety and quality policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse degree/diploma OR Matric (Senior Certificate).
• 2 years of experience in respiratory care.
• 3 years of driving experience.
• Autonomous work, knowledge of patient care and of consultative and diagnostic processes.
• Knowledge of VA safety procedures.
