About the role
Discovery Connect is seeking an experienced Telesales Team Leader to manage a dynamic group of consultants in Sandton, Johannesburg. You will be the primary point of contact for the team, driving performance, ensuring quality, and representing the brand to clients.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 10‑12 telesales agents, setting daily and monthly targets.
- Conduct performance management, coaching, and development sessions.
- Monitor and assess call quality through QA processes.
- Handle escalated client queries and complex issues.
- Support recruitment activities, including interviews and role‑plays.
- Maintain strong communication between management and staff.
- Enforce internal policies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Work occasional overtime, including weekends, as required.
Required profile
- Grade 12 qualification (essential).
- Minimum 4 years of outbound/inbound telesales experience.
- At least 3 years of proven team‑leadership experience.
- Proficient written and spoken English; additional language is a plus.
- Computer literate with strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
- Relevant regulatory exam and NQF 5 FAIS credits.
- A BCom or related degree is advantageous.
