Telesales Team Leader – Sandton

About the role

Discovery Connect is seeking an experienced Telesales Team Leader to manage a dynamic group of consultants in Sandton, Johannesburg. You will be the primary point of contact for the team, driving performance, ensuring quality, and representing the brand to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 10‑12 telesales agents, setting daily and monthly targets.
• Conduct performance management, coaching, and development sessions.
• Monitor and assess call quality through QA processes.
• Handle escalated client queries and complex issues.
• Support recruitment activities, including interviews and role‑plays.
• Maintain strong communication between management and staff.
• Enforce internal policies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Work occasional overtime, including weekends, as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification (essential).
• Minimum 4 years of outbound/inbound telesales experience.
• At least 3 years of proven team‑leadership experience.
• Proficient written and spoken English; additional language is a plus.
• Computer literate with strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Relevant regulatory exam and NQF 5 FAIS credits.
• A BCom or related degree is advantageous.
