Team Leader – Poultry Processing

About the role

Goldi, a division of Astral Operations and a leading integrated poultry producer in South Africa, is looking for an energetic Team Leader to manage daily operations on a processing line. You will report directly to the Production Manager and ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staff attendance, performance reviews, and resolve conflicts.
• Train new team members on SOPs and line mechanics.
• Maintain quality, food hygiene, process flow, and production volumes.
• Monitor line speed, yield optimization, and minimize product giveaway.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance and handle breakdowns.
• Report hourly and daily production metrics to the Production Manager.
• Enforce HACCP food safety standards and conduct regular quality checks.
• Maintain a clean, hazard‑free workspace and uphold health and safety protocols.
• Implement 20keys principles and other departmental safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Minimum 3 years hands‑on experience in a poultry breeder operation.
• Possession of or willingness to obtain a PME qualification.
• Experience in a high‑through‑put production environment.
• Computer literate and able to work shifts, including overtime.
• Hard‑working, honest, self‑motivated and able to work under pressure.
