Tax Manager – Johannesburg North

About the role

Join a dynamic Chartered Accountancy firm in Johannesburg North as a Tax Manager. This senior, permanent position leads a team of tax consultants and an administrator, ensuring compliance with all SARS deadlines and delivering high‑quality tax services to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a group of Tax Consultants and a Tax Administrator.
• Compile tax calculations, complete tax returns (including IRP5/IT3, EMP501 reconciliations, and IRP6 provisional returns) for all entities and individuals.
• Handle tax audits, objections, and high‑level disputes with SARS, including legal processes.
• Review and approve all tax returns before submission and assess income tax assessments.
• Provide tax opinions, consultations, and advice on foreign tax, double‑tax treaties, and trust taxation.
• Submit dividend tax, STT, customs applications and manage VAT/PAYE audits.
• Oversee e‑filing functions and maintain statutory registrations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in tax compliance and administration.
• BCom degree with Tax specialization, Advanced Certificate in Tax, or Hdip Tax qualification.
• Target‑driven, deadline‑focused and strong communicator with clients, SARS, staff, and partners.
