Target Generating Operator (FACT X2) – 36‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

The Target Generating Operator provides simulator support functions within the SSS domain for Air Traffic Services training. This fixed‑term position lasts 36 months and is based in Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Set up simulators according to standard practice and conduct pre‑brief and de‑brief sessions with ATS instructors and delegates.
• Fly exercises to meet defined objectives and manipulate simulator‑generated tracks using the Air Traffic Management Display Simulator and pilot positions.
• Capture, program and test ICAO flight‑plan details in the simulator database, coordinating with Air Traffic Services personnel for real data.
• Create, revise and test software change exercises; research, develop, write, program and re‑engineer training exercises to satisfy client requirements.
• Develop practical courseware, maintain training documentation, and keep aircraft type, performance and AIP reference files up to date.
• Ensure compliance with OHAS and safety requirements and provide timely feedback to clients.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics and English passed; Geography is an advantage.
• 3 to 6 months of related work experience or exposure.
