Sustainability Data Analyst

About the role

Join a leading JSE‑listed financial services organisation in Cape Town as a Sustainability Data Analyst. You will support renewable energy, water stewardship, resource efficiency and social upliftment initiatives through advanced data analytics and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets on energy consumption, water usage and social metrics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Validate and interpret data from multiple internal and external sources, ensuring accuracy for all reporting processes.
• Prepare financial and operational analyses that inform investment decisions and strategic planning within the sustainability function.
• Produce clear reports, visualisations and presentations for stakeholders.
• Maintain and enhance analytical models, dashboards and reporting tools.
• Automate manual tasks using Python scripts and web scrapers.
• Uphold data quality standards and governance across all sustainability systems.

Required profile

• A degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Econometrics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an analytical role working with complex datasets.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate data insights into business decisions.

Required skills

• Python for automation, scripting and data analysis.
• Data modelling experience.
• API integration experience.
