Superintendent – Bagging & Intake Operations

About the role

The Superintendent (Intake) will lead the bagging facility, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective operations. Reporting to the Plant Manager – Bagging and Intake, you will plan resources, oversee shift activities and drive continuous improvement in a high‑impact manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate safety and environmental incidents and perform process safety audits.
• Track and coordinate mitigation actions, close internal and external findings, and update risk assessments.
• Coach new and existing employees on plant procedures and OHSA 8.2(i) compliance.
• Develop, train and mentor staff on quality control procedures, SOPs and work instructions.
• Coordinate training programs while minimizing cost and business impact.
• Investigate non‑conforming product reports (NCRs) and monitor raw material quality.
• Monitor and control line budgets (PPE, staff welfare, cleaning, overtime) and report cost‑saving measures.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising bagging or similar manufacturing processes.
• Strong knowledge of safety, quality and cost‑control principles.
• Ability to plan resources, manage shift teams and drive performance metrics.
• Excellent communication skills for coaching and stakeholder liaison.
