Strategic Communications Lead – Transformational Change (2-Year Contract)

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a Strategic Communications Lead to design and execute an integrated communication strategy for a multi‑pillar modernisation programme across Sub‑Saharan Africa. The role will translate complex change agendas into clear, compelling narratives that drive alignment and momentum among diverse stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously evolve the programme narrative, ensuring consistency across business units and geographies.
• Translate technology, operating model, process and behavioural change initiatives into audience‑relevant storytelling.
• Design and implement enterprise‑grade communication architecture, including frameworks, governance models and messaging structures.
• Align communication activities with defined OKRs, providing clear linkage between strategic objectives and day‑to‑day messaging.
• Travel across East and West Africa to engage local teams and tailor communications to regional contexts.

Required profile

• Proven experience at the intersection of strategy, storytelling and large‑scale organisational change.
• Demonstrated ability to shape communications for technology‑driven transformation programmes.
• Strong exposure to senior leadership in fast‑evolving, collaborative environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with cultural sensitivity across multiple African markets.
